Although often regarded as one and the same as Xmas Parties, Staff Parties need not have any kind of seasonal requirement. Perhaps your company has survived fifty years and is still booming and this represents a great way of saying 'thank you' to your staff? Maybe the latest sales or the state of the order book illustrates how well your staff have worked and contributed to this success? If so, a staff party might be a good investment for the future!
Staff Parties can help break down the management and worker barriers in an informal setting and where the 'them and us' mentality can be temporarily suspended for a brief moment and for the good of all! Staff parties can enhance team spirit towards common goals. Trouble is, your staff may see you in a more relaxed light but that might not be a bad thing! I'm told many good things (and a few negatives) come out of staff parties that might never be discussed in the boardroom but always lead towards better things from a business perspective. Sometimes, it may be hard to look at your boss in quite the same way as before!
