Fund Raisers!
There are many hard-working organisations and charities doing good work on behalf of our society each and every day of the year. Supporters of the local hospital and local school do their very best to improve resources allocated to these services by government. Clubs also provide a useful service to the community and even a small football team needs a certain amount of money to survive.
Sad thing is, they are all reliant on the generosity of the local public, and given the recent adverse publicity concerning scams and financial irregularities, many organisations of the type listed above have become 'tarred with the same brush' and traditional methods of raising funds has diminished returns considerably. More people are now apt to buy a National Lottery Ticket than drop coins into a box belonging to who knows who they are.
In response to this, some organisations are following the well established American practice of the fund raiser party. For local schools, by example, this can range from staging plays before a paying audience or else school discos. In the latter category, we are well equipped to assist and help. Hospital Radio? Whether it is a sixties or seventies themed disco for a local school or a full-blown themed ball, the primary aim of all fund-raising events is to raise money. Getting the right entertainment is very important resulting in more money being raised year in and year out.
It would be nice if we could afford to offer our services for free for such occasions but sadly we're not nearly rich enough to afford the costs involved in such undertakings. Nevertheless, we are willing to accept a substantially reduced income in support of good causes. Fees are negotiable for such events.
